The Pyongyang Marathon 2025 returned to North Korea’s capital. From packed stadium crowds to strong local wins, here's the results of race day.
The Pyongyang Marathon 2025 took place on Sunday, 6 April, with over 500 participants hitting the streets of the DPRK capital. Among them were around 200 international amateur runners, making this one of the most diverse editions yet—with omre than 40 countries represented.
It began as a cloudy morning, but the skies soon cleared—leaving ideal race conditions with cool air, bright sunshine, and a packed crowd cheering inside Kim Il Sung Stadium.
In the elite division, Full Marathoner runner Pak Kum Dong (DPR Korea) claimed the men’s title with a time of 2:12:08, while Jon Su Gyong (DPR Korea) dominated the women’s race with a winning time of 2:25:48.
