DATES
The dates for the Pyongyang Marathon 2026 have not yet been confirmed. It will take place in April 2026. Once we can confirm the dates we will make an announcement.
ITINERARY
The date for the Pyongyang Marathon 2026 has not yet been confirmed. Due to the recent changes in North Korea tourism, Koryo Tours are not yet able to confirm the itinerary for Pyongyang Marathon 2026. We also cannot confirm if entry into North Korea will be as a special running delegation as per the Pyongyang Marathon 2025, or other.
Previously, Koryo Tours has offered trips from 2 - 14 days. At the moment, it is not possible to confirm the Pyongyang Marathon 2026 tour length or itineraries.

HOW TO SIGN UP
STEP 1: Use the Early Bird Sign Up link
STEP 2: Fill in your name, email, and preferred marathon distance (you can change this later).
STEP 3: Reserve your spot in the Pyongyang Marathon 2026 and receive your Koryo-exclusive 50% discount code.
STEP 4: Once bookings are open, you will be notified via email.
HOW TO CLAIM YOUR DISCOUNT
Pyongyang Marathon 2026 bookings are not yet open.
STEP 1: Once official Pyongyang Marathon sign-ups open, go to our tours page.
STEP 2: Select the Pyongyang Marathon trip you want and proceed using our online booking form.
STEP 3: Upon booking, quote the code given to you when signing up for the Early Bird discount as well as the name/email address you used.
STEP 4: Receive your Koryo-exclusive 50% discount on your marathon participation fees.
STEP 5: Pay the deposit and guarantee your spot in the Pyongyang Marathon 2026!
HOW MUCH IS THE DISCOUNT?
The Pyongyang Marathon 2026 fees have not yet been released.
To get an idea of the price, you may refer to the Pyongyang Marathon 2025 prices:
Full Marathon (42km): $150 USD
Half Marathon (21km): $100 USD
10km: $70 USD
5km: $70 USD
Your 50% discount when you sign up to the Pyongyang Marathon Early Bird will be based on the 2026 edition of the above fees.
Pyongyang Marathon Early Bird Ts&Cs:
1. Signing up reserves a preliminary spot for you in the Pyongyang Marathon 2026.
2. This does not guarantee you a spot on the Pyongyang Marathon tour. Your spot is guaranteed upon receipt of your deposit.
3. Koryo Tours do not accept any deposit without a confirmed tour date and itinerary. (Coming soon).
4. Early bird sign-ups close September 1st.
Pyongyang Marathon 2025: Looking Back
On the 3rd of April, followed by another flight on the 5th of April 2025, Koryo Tours hosted our first group back to Pyongyang after a 5+ year wait and closure to tourism.
With over 10 members of Koryo staff coming together in Pyongyang leading the trips and taking part in the marathon event, after so many years, it was incredible not only to be taking such big groups into North Korea once again - but to be getting the Koryo Team back together.
We had a total of 9 different groups with almost 200 people from around 50 different countries take part in this special Pyongyang Marathon event. This makes it one of the most diverse events ever to have taken place in North Korea. People from all over the world came together to travel to Pyongyang.
We were not in Pyongyang as tourists officially. Rather, we went to Pyongyang as part of an official delegation of amateur athletes invited by the DPRK Athletics Association.
