2016 in review:
Mongolia, Russia
and The Stans

We don’t just do North Korea! This year we took a number of intrepid Koryoites on a series of successful trips to other unusual destinations across Asia...

Koryo was founded in 1993 as the first real bridge between North Korea and curious Western tourists. With more than two decades of experience taking tens of thousands of people to North Korea we are very much the leaders in our field. But while the DPRK is very much our No 1 speciality, we began to offer trips to other countries as of 2004.

We frequently get suggestions about where else we could run tours to, but we’ve been very careful over the years to make sure the places we go fit the experience we’re looking to present to people, destinations we have some expertise or relationship with, and tours that we know you will love and be fascinated by.

And so this year, we ran exciting, carefully curated, and unique trips to Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Abandoned Russia, and will continue to offer these destinations well in to 2017. Hurray!

Because as anyone who has travelled with us will know, we aren’t the kind of company to just jump on an idea and run with it until we have thoroughly tested and refined it ourselves, so as to ensure we can deliver that special Koryo Tours experience.

So if it’s your first time with us, or, indeed, you’ve been elsewhere with us before, then we welcome you on any of these amazing adventures to some of Asia’s most unusual and fascinating destinations.
