When is the best time to visit Mongolia?
The travel season in Mongolia begins around mid-May, and lasts until mid-September. Outside of these months, the weather begins to turn, and during the winter, travel is more difficult due to the freezing temperatures. Most travellers visit the country between June or August, making the most of the warmer weather. In early July, the country celebrates the traditional Naadam cultural festival, a chance to mix with locals and experience a true ancient Mongolian festival. This does, of course, make July a busier period for travellers.
