The 2nd Taedonggang Beer Festival was due to take place throughout the month of August and following from the huge success of last year's festival would have been one of the highlights of the year. As well as the opportunity to try some of the DPRK brews, the main reason for attending this festival for tourists is the excellent mingling and interaction opportunities with the hundreds of local people who attend every evening.

The reason for the cancellation is unclear and we don't expect full information to be forthcoming but it is possibly down to the ongoing drought in the country that has caused a great deal of trouble. If the event is rescheduled, un-cancelled, or there is any more news about it then of course Koryo Tours will announce at the earliest opportunity.
