The Drive from Pyongyang to Mt. Myohyang

Mt. Myohyang is located in North Korea's Northwest. 

The area is surrounded by beautiful landscapes. 

Mt. Myohyang is not in fact a mountain, but a mountain range, it is common in Asia to give ranges and specific mountains the same name.

The area is incredibly peaceful and renowned across the DPRK for its beauty, air quality, and wealth of flora and fauna.

The drive to Mt. Myohyang from Pyongyang is on a highway, still somewhat bumpy, which takes around 2.5-3 hours. 

You will leave Pyongyang and carry on through the countryside until the big city life seems a distant blurry memory. 

As you approach Mt. Myohyang, you will drive alongside the Chongchon River, this runs all the way to the Mt. Myohyang region and you may even see people panning for gold at some points in this river as well as various small dams and sluices along the way.
