Sat 14th April

 

AM: Bus from office to Airport
PM: Departure with Air Koryo flight JS152 Beijing  – Pyongyang

from PEK, Terminal 2 at 13:00 , arrive in Pyongyang at 16:25.

Meet guides who will accompany you during your stay,

Arch of Triumph – similar to the French version (but bigger),

OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Sun 15th April

 

AM: DPRK HOLIDAY: 100th Birthday of President Kim Il Sung.

Kumsusan Memorial Palace- Mausoleum where President

Kim Il Sung lies in state, Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery -

bronzebustsof the Koreanswhodied fighting the Japanese

occupation, Kim Il Sung Square - Pyongyang’s largest square

in the heart of the city
PM: Mansudae Grand Monument (Giant Statue of President

Kim Il Sung), Fountain Park, Moranbong Park (to mingle with the

locals on this most-important of national holidays),

Kimilsungia Festival (exhibition of flowers named after the late

leader), Evening events including a Mass Dance expected

to mark the occasion
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Mon 16th April

 

AM: Mangyongdae Native House (birthplace of Kim Il Sung),

Pyongyang  Metro (extended ride on the world’s deepest

underground system), Juche Tower (panoramic views of Pyongyang

from 150m up), Monument to Party Foundation - commemorates

the 50 years of Workers' Party rule
PM: Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum (Korean War

Museum) - hear and see the DPRK version of the conflict (Korean

War Museum), Pyongyang Golden Lane (ten pin bowling alley,

great for mixing with the citizenry), Foreign Languages Bookshop,

Walking in the city centre to soak up the holiday atmosphere.

Drive to Nampo, Nampo West Sea Barrage (8km long dam\ seperating the Taedong river from the West Sea of Korea)

OVERNIGHT: Ryonggang Hot Spa,Nampo

 

 

Tues 17th April

AM: Chollima Steel Works - New for 2012! Tae'an Heavy Machine Tool Complex, Tae'an Glass Factory, Mt. Ryonggak for picnic lunch
PM: Brief hike in the mountains (not-too-strenuous walk in this

popular picnic and day-tripping spot with the locals), Return to

Pyongyang, Schoolchildren’s Palace tour and performance,

Paradise micro-brewery (try the local brew)
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Wed 18th April

 

AM: Drive to Kaesong, (2.5 hours)  Panmunjom/DMZ (the demarcation line between North and South Korea), Koryo Museum (relics of the ancient city), Local park and pavilions
PM: Tomb of King Kongmin (dynastic king of Korea),

Return to Pyongyang, Kaeson Youth funfair (best evening entertainment in the city!)
OVERNIGHT: Yanggakdo Hotel, Pyongyang

 

 

Thurs 19th April

 

AM: 08:55 flight departure to Beijing / 10:10 Train departs from Pyongyang for China
PM: Cross border at Sinuiju/Dandong, those visiting Dandong alight here, train continues to Beijing
OVERNIGHT: On train

 

 

Fri 20th April

 

AM: 08:34 Arrival at Beijing Central Railway Station. End of Tour

TOUR COST: EUR 1490

PRE-TOUR MEETING: April 13th (Friday), 4PM, at our office in Beijing

Room upgrades available – please ask for more information.

 

TOUR FEE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

1. Flight Beijing-Pyongyang, train Pyongyang-Beijing
2. All meals on the tour except on the train out of DPRK – see below
3. Hotel accommodation
4. All entry fees
5. Two guides and a driver per group
6. All transportation in DPRK
   
   

NOT INCLUDED IN THE TOUR FEE:

1. Optional single room supplement of EUR 40 per night
2. Spending money for drinks and souvenirs
3. Visa fee EUR 50
4. EUR 50 surcharge for the train to Beijing or EUR 50 surcharge for the plane to Beijing (or Air China surcharge EUR 120)
5. Tip for the guides (approx EUR 20-25 total)
6. Meals on the train out of DPRK - (bring your own food or eat dinner and lunch in the buffet car approximately EUR 5 per person)
7. Entry tickets for Mass Games and special events if applicable – for example Revolutionary Opera if being staged, or a visit to the funfair
8. The lift up the Juche Tower EUR 5
9. Meals will have a complimentary beer but you will have to pay for extra drinks above those provided. If you are vegetarian or have special dietary requirements then please inform us beforehand
