If you are interested in travelling to the DPRK (North Korea) then you have come to the right place. Below you will see why we are the best company to travel with, why we have the most experience and why, if you choose us, then you will be guaranteed the trip of a lifetime.

Firstly if you want a quick answer without having to read through the website then please email us and we will get back to you: info@koryogroup.com

Since 1993 Koryo Tours have specialised in travel to DPRK (North Korea). We have made three award winning BBC documentaries and two radio programmes, consulted on three North Korea travel guidebooks and run a variety of cultural and educational projects. Very simply we are the experts and you will not find anyone who knows the country better or who can arrange an itinerary to make it your trip of a lifetime. We know more about North Korea tourism than anyone and we do not disappoint: most of our custom is return visitors or introductions from previous tourists. We now run tours to Turkmenistan - and the majority of our tourists on these trips are those who have travelled with us to Korea.

the films we have made

We are not a travel company who portray DPRK simply as a holiday destination with picturesque sights, we do try and tell the whole picture, to inform our tourists of the reality of North Korea. We tailor itineraries to make sure you get as much contact with the Korean people as possible. We are a team of Korea specialists and either Simon Cockerell, Hannah Barraclough or Nicholas Bonner will accompany each group tour into the DPRK to introduce you to your local guides and make sure you have the best itinerary and information possible to make the most of your visit.

We can provide French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese and Russian speaking guides, all you need is basic English so that we can communicate with you to issue your visa.

The itinerary will continue to reveal the catalogue of revolutionary exhibits and 'miraculous feats' of their leaders but it also allows a great deal of contact with the Korean people. The stereotype of a 'robotic people' is soon broken if you travel there. The Koreans are a very proud people and although their life is a struggle their humour and warmth is unsurpassed. Europe, Canada, Australia have diplomatic relations with DPRK) and it is one of the safest places to be in the world (and certainly the most memorable).

Koryo Tours will make sure you get the most out of your trip. Without exception every tourist has said that their trip to North Korea was the highlight of their world travels. If you are considering a trip with us and would like to speak to someone who has travelled with us before then do let us know and we can pass on contact details. Please also read our testimonies. We can guarantee you will have the most amazing travel experiences possible.

Many thanks for visiting our website and we are hope we have something to interest you. Please contact Simon, Nicholas or Hannah for any questions you may have, we will get back to you immediately. There are only around 2,000 western tourists who visit each year .... our advice is visit very, very soon. Other destinations will remain the same, DPRK will not.

Have fun exploring our website and we look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions,

Nick, Simon and Hannah at Koryo Tours.

"a trip to North Korea is the greatest possible adventure, there is simply nowhere as amazing, if you do not visit you are missing out…but until you have been it is difficult to tell just how mind-blowingly wonderful it all is!"
Andy Kershaw BBC Radio 3, on his 4th visit to North Korea with Koryo Tours for his music tour, November 2003 . Listen to the show here.

"Before you book with a company that arranges travel to North Korea, ask a few questions on topics such as recent events, history, what are the attractions, the do's and don'ts, what are the best times to visit. Then compare which company gives the best advice. You will find there is only one expert in Korea- and as it is a destination where it is sensible to go with experts then I can recommend only Koryo Tours."
